A Poinsettia For Beauty

There is a special winter garden
And it blossoms each December.
It is planted with the seed
Of every Christmas we remember.
There is mistletoe for laughter,
There is holly for good cheer,
There is evergreen to symbolize
The hope of the New Year.
There is poinsettia for beauty,
And for sweetness there is the bay,
May the harvest of all these, and more
Be yours this Christmas Day.

One of my Christmas projects is crocheting sweet little holiday stockings.  Each one is approximately 5"x 3".  I have made four of them so far.  They will grace my Christmas dinner table holding each one's silverware.

I've struggled a bit with the Poinsettia middle flowers.  First, I tried french knots but they didn't look right.  I settled with a golden floral middle that will hopefully give it a poinsettia look.

All in all, I am very pleased with the outcome.
