Lunch with Miss Frances

A big thank you to Dianna for including a link to a Ding Dong School with Miss Frances clip on YouTube.

Lunch w/Miss Frances

Oh gosh.  She is so annoying.  She speaks soooo slowly and in a sing song voice.  I can feel myself getting all stabby.  Yikes!

Now peanut butter and bananas I can understand...  even on a sandwich.  But with lettuce?  LOTS of lettuce?

I noticed Miss Frances did not cut off the crust.  Did you have to eat the crush on your sandwiches as a child?  I did.  Did you make your children eat the crust on their sandwiches?  I did.

When I make a sandwich for my grandson, I cut off the crust. ♥

Life's funny that way.

  1. I know how you feel about Miss Frances and her voice. When I watched the You Tube video my first thought was, "Oh my goodness...how did I stand to listen to that every day?" I guess it must have had something to do with being a kid then. :-)

    1. Dianna, do you remember what time of day she was on? I'm guessing it must have been in the morning.

  3. Oh my...she is annoying. That singing...my ears hurt.lol Thank goodness for sweet Misterogers. I will take him any day. My mother made us eat the crust...no wasting food at our house. Some of my grands like crust and some do not but Nana will cut off the crusts if desired.

  4. Hi Gina!

I have never heard of, Ding Dong School with Miss Francis, yes her voice would drive me nuts! I love peanut butter and bananas, but I'm with you, lettuce? I don't think so... :0)

I always had to eat the crust, so did most of my children. But, I had one little girl who really hated the crust, and I'm a softy, I didn't make her eat it. She was just too cute! I have a few grands who don't like the crust, and that's ok...they grow up way too fast so I cut it off!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

    1. Maybe our generation and earlier ones were just crust eaters. No wasting food - although we could have shared the crusts with the birds....

    1. Anne, you could save the crusts for some of your farm animals or birds! Have a lovely weekend!

  6. Love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Have eaten several over the years. Eat peanut butter and crackles most every day. Good protein.

    1. LV, I am a peanut butter kind of gal. Peanut butter on celery as a snack or perhaps on an apple. Not sure about the lettuce though :-)

  7. you are funny, yeah she didn't seem really comfortable in front of the camera. I have never had a banana and peanut butter sandwich, and I too thought that lettuce sounded funny with it myself.
I don't remember if I was told to eat my crust, but I didn't mind it, and still don't. My daughter would eat most of her crust but I guess I never cared either way.

    1. Connie, I believe she was on television 2-3 years. Maybe this was one of her earlier episodes?
