Only a Flesh Wound

I am bound and determined to post something every day for a year.  I hope that I will be successful in my endeavor.  Some posts may be on the short side.  Somehow I've injured my right arm and it is difficult to type much.  I have been to see a couple of different doctors in the last week and will start physical therapy on Wednesday.  I'm not sure how I injured it but my arm has been fairly useless and painful.

X-rays have been done and nothing conclusive.  They will do an MRI in a few weeks but the insurance wants me to do the PT first.  I am thankful for our health insurance but to me it seems kind of dumb not to just do the MRI now.  I guess the insurance would rather not pay for it if it can be fixed via PT.  The doctor suspects that I've torn the ligaments/tendons in my arm which can only be seen with the MRI.

I am doing my best to stay in prayer and be content with how I feel and what I can get done.  Thus the song references yesterday.  I am trying to dwell on being thankful instead of any problems.

That's how my Monday is going.  How's your Monday?

  1. Dear Gina,

I am so sorry to hear about this arm of yours that doesn't care to be used. How have you typed so beautifully without the use of it? What a blessing you are. You and that arm shall be in my prayers.

I'm sorry that I've not been around for several days. My post at the blog tomorrow will deal with the reason why briefly. But I have gone back and read each of your posts since the one about Miss Frances. :-) I enjoyed the praise song lyrics you shared from yesterday...and the poem about the daffodils...lovely. And that tulip wreath on your door makes me swoon! It is gorgeous! No...I've not put any thing on the door or changed decorations inside to show that spring is coming soon. :( I'll try to remedy that this week. :)

Please take care of that arm and I hope you have a physical therapist that is as wonderful with you as the physical therapist my husband had last fall was with him. I'll be praying for you Wednesday.

    xx

    1. Dianna, thank you. I appreciate the kind words and prayers. Most of the pain is in my forearm though it does extend to my wrist a little. I am limiting my time online and resting it when I can.

  2. Bless your heart...Marvin is off to the doctor with a very painful shoulder. It happens now and then and a Prednisone pack usually helps.

    1. No prednisone yet Arlene, but the Toradol shot sure took away the pain for a while.

    2. Marvin got the shot and Prednisone. They also found out he had an ear infection...at age 65!! So he is medicated up and we see improvement this morning. Growing older sure is not for sissies.

    1. Diana, I start my PT tomorrow. I've been doing some exercises at home and putting heat on my arm. I think it is helping.

  5. I agree with you in that it makes more sense if you could have the MRI first, Gina. I hope your poor arm will feel better soon. God bless you as you do your PT.
Love your new pretty pink tulip Wreath!

  9. Praying for you!!! I also can say I am also on a mission to post everyday. I often retreat from blogging and computer time when I am going through health issues. But I am challenging myself to not do this again. I find a lot of comfort and support from my readers. Bless you!

  10. Oh isn't that so annoying when you would just love to do what you want to do, I sure hope that the PT does the job and you feel a whole lot better. When I injured my back they did the same thing and I am kind of glad they did because I learned so much and it really helped, now when my back is giving me problems I know just what to do to feel better without having to go to the doctor. All the best and quick healing!
