Popcorn & a Show ~ Under the Shadow

No good movie is too long and no bad movie is short enough.
~Roger Ebert

Isn't that the truth!

Though I do love movies, I seldom go to the theater any more. I prefer to watch them via iTunes, Netflix, or DVD.  I'm cancelling Netflix soon.  I think I'll try Acorn TV (British shows/movies) instead.

I especially love to watch foreign films in their original language with English subtitles. One of my goals this year is to watch at least one foreign film a month.

Last month, the foreign film that I watched was About Elly.

The month, I chose another Persian movie Under the Shadow. As a mother and daughter struggle to cope with the terrors of the post-revolution, war-torn Tehran of the 1980s, a mysterious evil begins to haunt their home. (click on the link to see a trailer for this movie)

I thoroughly enjoyed this award winning movie.  I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time.  If you are looking for a little something different (and scary), you might enjoy Under the Shadow.

Have you watched a movie lately?

  1. I'm currently watching the Love Comes Softly series on DVD! And Oh my! That popcorn looks so delicious! Popcorn is one of my weaknesses. :-)

  3. We love watching movies at night when we want to relax. We're kind of funny though...we watch half one night and half the next! Right now we are watching Downton Abbey...AGAIN! We started back at the beginning and we are enjoying it. Hugs, Diane

  4. We saw Hidden Figures at the theater but also watched Bridge of Spies on tv. Tom Hanks never disappoints. I would like to see Fantastic Beasts and where to find them as well as Girl on the Trains. Maybe Red Box will have them! I would love to have ACORN tv. I love the British shows.

  7. We don't go to the movies much anymore either, we just got Netflix in January,,, have you watched the Crown on Netflix, I really enjoyed it. I hadn't heard of Acorn Tv, I am not much on reading my movies, I feel I miss too much while I am reading and my eyesight isn't what it use to be.
