Shams of a Different Color

Posting the photograph yesterday of Little Bear hiding under the bed reminded me that it was time to change the daybed's quilt and shams.  I love this antique rose gold quilt.  I can't seem to find the matching shams so I made do with shams of a different color.

The two green floral pillow shams match the touch of green in the quilt.  Even though the white sham doesn't match the quilt in color, the flowers are similar to the ones in the quilt.  The green foliage on the white sham also matches the lighter green in the other shams.  The smaller pillows match the antique gold in the quilt. I'm not crazy about the white bedskirt.  I do have a matching bedskirt to the quilt but it probably is with the matching shams in a box in the attic.  I'll find them eventually.

Do your bed pillow shams match?

  1. Your quilt is beautiful...love all of the flowers, both on the quilt and the shams. I have to confess...yes, my shams do match...but only because I pack them away together with the quilts when changing seasons.

    1. Matching shams are beautiful too, Dianna. I love this daybed and there is a trundle bed underneath. ♥

  3. I would say it all looks fabulous together, I don't usually do all matchy matchy on things, I like it to go together but I love a mix of things!

    1. I think I"m more of the mixed up look with some aspects that match instead of everything exactly matching person. Boy that sounds confusing! :-)

  5. Love everything!! The sham, the quilt and the lovely cast iron day bed. What a delightful place to curl up and read a good book whilst enjoying a cup of tea. I like the mixed up look rather than everything matchy matchy.

    1. Kim, I absolutely love the cast iron daybed. Our bed also has a cast iron frame to it. They have such a cozy antique look about them. ♥
