A Bit of Whimsy

Today has been a better day for Little Bear and me.  We are both resting and taking our medicines.  Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.

Now for a bit of whimsy...

On my mahogany drop leaf table in the little nook off the kitchen and living room are some sweet Easter touches.  I found this Jim Shore Easter tree on eBay.

Next to the tree is this fine bunny fellow on his trusty tortoise steed.  They are pulling a little cart filled with woodland friends and Easter eggs.

The little woodland friends were meant to hang on the Easter tree. You can see the little hooks on their heads.  I like them better in the cart.  On the tree, they look like they were being lynched. Yikes!

    1. Karen, I didn't make the table runner. I think I bought it a few years ago at Kmart. They used to carry a Country Living line but they don't any more. I love the wood eggs too. xo

  3. What a darling tree, Gina! I love whimsy, too, and I think the little ornaments look cuter in the cart...much better than being hung in the tree. Your crocheted runner is so pretty.

    1. The little animals look much happier in the cart. They looked quite unhappy hung on the tree. :-)

  4. very pretty, are you going to make your own eggs to hang on the tree? I do think they look perfect in the cart, I love the idea of the rabbit riding the tortoise :)

    1. Connie, I don't think I'll have time to make eggs this year. The rabbit & tortoise with the cart makes me smile!

    1. It was a lovely day, Arlene, I've had to cover the porch furniture with sheets until all the green/yellow pollen falls from the trees. Once the pollen is gone, I'll shake the sheets out and wash them. It saves me hours of cleaning time!

  6. I am glad to hear that both you and Little Bear are doing better. Your Easter tree and the other spring decorations are adorable. Lovely the doiliy that is on the drop leaf table also. :) Reminds me of my grandma.

    1. Thank you, Dianna. I don't think my grandmother had doilies but I remember my friend's mother had lots of them. On the back of chairs (like a recliner) and on the arm rests. xo
