Fireworks, Parades, and Stars

With the 4th of July right around the corner, I thought I would get a head start on my holiday cards. Here are a few samples of the cards I made this afternoon.

Stories of Summer

Anyone remember decorating their bicycle  with a flag and ribbons? Perhaps playing cards in the spokes of the tires or streamers in the handles?

Starry Starry Night

Twinkle, twinkle, starry night.  Odd shapes and cut outs make for an unusual patriotic puzzle card.

Banners and Balloons

I have such fond memories of standing on the back of a tricycle as my friend peddled as fast as she could.  Such sweet summer memories.

Old Glory

My favorite card of the day! I add touches of burlap to this tattered Land of the Free.

Four cards down and at least ten more to go.  I'm on a roll! ♥

  1. How fun those are Gina. We always had a cook out on the Fourth along with home made ice cream and sparklers to enjoy when it got dark.

    1. Arlene, we had sparklers as a child too. My husband doesn't care for them so they were a no no when the grands were here. We had fun anyway.

    1. Diane, you are so sweet. Thank you! Good for you for still riding your bike. I haven't for years. I lent it to someone years ago and then she moved to another state and I never heard from her again.

  3. You have a wonderful head start on your holiday cards, they are fabulous, I did do the cards in my spokes and had the streamers on my handles! I love the rustic distressed look of the last card the best!

We all have our “good old days” tucked away inside our hearts, and we return to them in dreams like cats to favorite armchairs. ~ B. Carter
