The F Word

It is difficult for me to pass up a good deal when it comes to grocery shopping.

Yesterday I shopped out of necessity. Our cupboards were bare and now they aren't.

My grocery store has great buy 1 get 1 free deals or even sometimes buy 2 get 3 free!! And since FULL PRICE is the F word in my house... I do my best to take advantage of sales.

I think the best sale yesterday was on the store brand shredded cheese (buy 2 get 3 free).  I bought mozzarella and cheddar.  I see chicken parmesan and enchiladas in my future (not together ~ separate dinners). Win Win!

Today I went grocery shopping again because there were new sales and if you spent $100, you would get $20 off.  I very carefully added up my items in my head as I placed them into my cart.  I didn't want to end up with $99.  I was spot on and happy with my purchases.  The best sale this week is on Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice (buy 1 get 1 free).  My husband and I like the 50% sugar Cranberry Juice (not the lite one).  We've both been good about not drinking soda (though I do splurge once a week and have a diet 7up float).

Is FULL PRICE the F word in your house?

  1. I am not good at using coupons etc. I do shop at Publix when they have BOGOs that I will use. I always enjoyed your CVS posts. You amazed me with all the bargains you got there.

    1. Arlene, I haven't shopped at CVS in a long time. Last time I went my store card didn't work for some reason and I was annoyed. I need to call them and have them fix it.

  2. Oh yes, but not necessarily with food but with any other purchases I make, but mostly my craft supplies, when I can use a coupon I am a happy girl :)

  3. I look for sales always, and will wait to purchase something if I know there will be a sale later. Sometimes, though, one needs what one needs and must pay (F) price!

    1. Lorrie, yes, sometimes we need to use the F word. I try to buy milk and produce at Costco where they are cheaper.

  5. If there is a good deal or a sale on and it's something you want or need then it's a winning situation!

Love the display of vegetables in the basket.

    All the best Jan

    1. Jan, I keep my eye on the sales and try to chart when things go on sale. There is a pattern to when certain things go on sale. I stock up when those special sales run. :-)
