An Old Photograph

My cousin, Eliza, emailed me this picture that she found of yours truly.  I'm not sure how old I was ~ probably less than 2 years old is my guess.  Love the dress and especially the little bracelet!

When I see pictures of myself as a child, I always wonder about the hairstyles of those days.  (and I'm thinking what were THEY thinking!!).  For most of my elementary school years I had a pixie cut.  (My mother would cut my hair!!)  In this photograph, clearly I'd had curlers in my hair earlier in the day or possibly overnight. Remember those hard plastic pink curlers?  They had bristles and boy did they hurt!  I don't know how anyone could sleep wearing them but somehow we did.

    1. Arlene, oh dear - THOSE Toni Perms! Yes, I had one or two and boy did they stink!!! Remember those little thin papers you had to wrap around the hair. Yikes what a mess!

    1. Jann, I think my mother made my dress. She was a good seamstress. :-)

    1. Kitty, thank you! The spongey pink curlers were better to sleep in but still uncomfortable. :-)

  7. Awww such a cute picture of you, I never did use those curlers, always had my hair straight until my older brother married a girl that was a hairdresser and I got a perm.

    1. Connie, I was a chubby little baby. My mother didn't even know I had the mumps when I did because I had/have chubby cheeks! Must be nice to have a hairdresser in the family!
