Menu Suggestions Please

I'm clearly feeling better
because
I am thinking about food!

The Fourth of July is fast approaching and I am in need of menu suggestions for the barbecue we are hosting. I believe that we will be entertaining 10 people. So far, we are planning on:

Hamburgers
Hot Dogs
Pasta Salad (cold)
Chips
Deviled Eggs
Fruit Salad or Crushed Pretzel/Cream Cheese/Jello Salad
Watermelon

I'm thinking of making a flag cake. I've seen a few recipes that look promising. I also saw a really cute recipe for individual cheesecakes with berries in little jars. Yum!

Do you have any favorite bbq dishes that you could recommend?

  2. Hi Gina - it looks like you've got it covered! Sounds like fun! Maybe a big old pot of doctored up beans might be good. A little mustard, brown sugar, and cooked bacon bits to a couple of large cans of baked beans. It's the 'Boston' in me that makes me love beans so much! Glad that you are feeling better, my dear. 1. Karen, baked beans sounds like a good idea. I've never made them before. Do you have a favorite recipe that you use? How long would you bake the above? xo

    1. Anne, I was considering potato salad and I may buy some. It takes a long time to make it and I'd rather hold a baby! ♥

  4. My mom always made baked beans, added a little cooked bacon, brown sugar and mustard, can be served warm or cold. Have a great time!

    1. Connie, interesting that it can be warm or cold. I may try this (experiment on my husband first!). :-)
