The F Word Times Three

Buying something on sale is a very special feeling. In fact, the less I pay for something, the more it is worth to me. I have a dress that I paid so little for that I am afraid to wear it. I could spill something on it, and then how would I replace it for that amount of money?
~Rita Rudner

For anyone that may have missed my previous posts involving this scandalous utterance..   FULL PRICE is the F word in my house.

I have returned!  After avoiding CVS Pharmacy for a few months,  (I was annoyed with my particular store after a few negative experiences) I decided to just let the past be the past and move onward toward the savings!  I started small and this is what I bought:

4 bottles of Dove Shampoo/Conditioner, 12 oz ea
2 bottles of Soft Soap Hand Soap, 7.5 oz ea
6 Renuzit Air Fresheners, 7 oz ea
2 bags of Hershey Chocolate Nuggets, 12 oz ea

Had I not used my CVS store card and coupons, I would have paid $52.62 for the above items. After using my store card and coupons, my total for the above was only $16.68. I saved $35.94 and also received $6.00 in Extra Care Bucks to use on my next purchase.

I was very happy that the Hershey chocolates were on sale (and I had a coupon!). I just barely avoided a disaster ~ I was down to my last few nuggets for my candy dish.

But WAIT! The savings did not end there. After the pharmacy, I headed out to the grocery store... where I invoked the F word three times (technically six times).

5 boxes of Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad (pasta salad)
5 packages of Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs, 10 count ea
5 6-pack bottles of Soda (Coke, Diet Coke, Lemonade)

The items above were on sale for Buy 2 (at FULL price) and Get 3 free.

1 Comet Cleanser
2 boxes of Hamburger Helper
1 package of Texas Toast Croutons
1 package of Mission Tortillas
1 package of Quaker Rice Cakes
1 package of Smithfield Pork Baby Back Ribs, 3 lbs
1 bunch of Bananas
1 yellow Onion
2 cobs of Sweet Corn
2 lbs of Pink Lady Apples
1 box of Ice Cream Drumsticks, 8 count
1 carton of Turkey Hill Ice Cream
1 gallon of Milk

*I made Hamburger Helper years ago when the children were little. I haven't made it in ages and plan to donate them.

*We are planning a big BBQ for the 4th of July so I was happy to stock up on hot dogs, pasta salad, and cokes.

*I hadn't planned to buy milk today but received it FREE after purchasing specific General Mills products.

Had I not used my store card and coupons, I would have paid $108.92 for the above items. After using my store card and coupons, my total for the above was only $47.65. I saved $61.27! Hooray! ♥

Are you planning a trip to the grocery store soon?
