My Dream Hair Style

In my dreams, I would have long flowing hair. I'd braid little strands here and there but most of it would just be loose. I am beautifully ethereal.

In reality, my hair will never be long and flowing. Once it gets to my shoulders, I can't take it and I just cut off. Today was one of those can't stand my hair length days. It was almost shoulder length and I took my shears and snip snip snip. It is now resembles a pageboy bob. My bangs are a bit above my eyebrows and the majority of my hair length comes to the bottom of my ears. Somehow, I managed to cut the very back the same length with a bit of a wedge layered look (if that makes sense). I don't know how I did it but I like it. I've seen similar styles online but I didn't set out to cut it that way.

It feels good to have the hair off my neck and not up in a messy ponytail. Does your hair style drive you crazy sometimes?

  1. Jerry likes my hair in a bob cut, which I had for a few years, but I like it long, so I grew it back out :-) I love being able to throw it in a ponytail or whatever I'd like to do with it that day :-) Hope you are having a wonderful day and staying cool!!

    Blessings,
    Jill

    1. Jill, I'm destined for short hair. I'm considering going even shorter but I don't think I could do that well myself. :-)

    1. Arlene, I don't particularly like going to get my hair cut. I like the way it turned out but it isn't perfect.

  3. I am with Arelene, you girls who cut your own hair amaze me {{smiles}} I will cut my bangs, but that is all.

In the past I have been like you and when it was to my shoulders I would cut it off. I have had pixie cuts, bobs, and many other styes. Now that I'm "older" I have this great desire to grow my hair out and so far I am winning. It's a little past my shoulders and I am looking forward to the day that it's to the middle of my back.

    Hugs to you, lovely lady!

  4. Hi!

I'm with you, Gina, I can't stand my hair to get too long. I tried growing it out last year, but before it even got to be chin length, I was making an appointment with my beautician to get it cut off! I'm a short hair girl for sure! How on earth do you cut your own hair?! You are amazing (of course we all know that...😊)!

    Hugs and love,
    Barb

    1. Barb, you are so cute! I think longer hair on ladies our age tend to make us look older. I think I trimmed a good 5 years off how I looked when I trimmed my hair. Win Win!

  5. Yeah when it starts getting too long it does start bothering me and when it takes to long to blow dry it is time to cut it. Right now it is just past my shoulders but I like that in the summer cause it is long enough to put up and get it off my neck. Hubby prefers my hair long so that is how I try to keep it. He usually cuts the length in the back for me and then I layer the rest of my hair.

    1. Connie, hooray for your helpful husband! I was pulling my hair up so much I decided I might as well cut it and I'm glad I did. I haven't blow dried hair in at least 10 years. I am a wash and go kind of girl. :-)

  6. My face is small and too much hair tends to overwhelm it. So I keep it at a mid-neck bob. I cut my own bangs, if needed, but don't touch the rest of it. I do cut my husband's hair all the time.

    1. Your hairstyle suits you, Lorrie. Mine is a bit shorter than yours and I think in a month, it will be perfect. I like it now too though. xo
