Not a Party Animal

The day after a party is usually a slow going day.  By nature, I am not a party animal.  I do enjoy small gatherings but I'd rather not go big (I'd go home!).

All the special dishes, platters, glasses, silverware, and such are washed, dried, and packed until next time.  The linens are ready to be washed, ironed, and put away.  The 4th of July decorations will stay out until early August.

Little Bear has been under the weather these last few days and thankfully the veterinarian had an appointment open this afternoon.  He prescribed a new pain/anti-inflamatory medication for her.  She will start it tomorrow morning (she'd already had a different one today).  I pray that the medication will make her more comfortable.

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday and I hope to visit your blogs tomorrow.  I'm off to bed.  Sweet Dreams!

  1. I will leave my July decor out until August as well Gina. I am not sure what I will replace it with as I am not going to put out fall until October. I was thinking that some sunflowers or a back to school theme might be nice. Poor LB. I think an antiinflammatory would help Marvin as well. We go for his MRI today.

    1. I hope Marvin is doing better, Arlene. I'll add him to my prayers. August is a strange month for decor. I do have some seaside-ish things I may put out. I probably will start my fall decor in September. xo

  3. Hello Gina,
I've been enjoying catching up with what has been going on in your life while I was away. I've enjoyed every minute of my reading time!

I'm so sorry to hear that Lil' Bear isn't feeling her best right now. I'll be thinking of her.

How wonderful for you that you were able to have some time with your fourth daughter! Isn't it great to have those special times like that with those we don't get to see often?

I loved how you did the individual trifles for your 4th of July BBQ! They look delicious and it is also something that I am going to be doing for us now that I have your instructions on how to do them.

I'm so glad that your BBQ was a success and that the weatherman was wrong! I truly understand how you feel about not being a party animal! I'm the same way. The day after a celebration like you just did always leaves me tired the day after...but I do have fond memories to keep me company as I rest up. :)

  5. I feel the same way, I like smaller get togethers than big ones, feels a bit overwhelming, unless you want to get lost in the crowd :)
Hope your furbaby gets to feeling much better today!

    1. Connie, Little Bear is doing better, thank you. I think I'd like to get lost in the crowd - better than being front and center, I think! xo
