Autumn Reminds Us

While it seems at times that the world is crumbling around us, autumn's beauty reminds us to look heavenward for comfort, hope, and purpose.

My husband took this photograph over the weekend when we were visiting Asheville. I am very fond of pumpkins and gourds. Their hearty charm delights the senses. Whether it is their appearance, their taste, or their texture, all exclaim Welcome Autumn.

The Bed & Breakfast that we stayed at has a gorgeous wrap around front porch where these pumpkins and gourds reside.  I can't choose a favorite one.  Doesn't the green one look like a goose though?

  1. What a lovely blog you have! Thanks for the kind comments left on my blog. I'm not a SU demonstrator but I help/assist a friend who is a demo so I have plenty of product! So glad you enjoyed your visit to Asheville. It is a beautiful area!

  3. Hi Gina~

The world is truly in despair right now. It gives us a chance to reach out, serve, and love each other more than we thought we could. It hit a little too close to home...so heartbreaking.

The photo is beautiful! I too love pumpkins and gourds...they really do have so much personality!

    Happy, October dear friend!

    Hugs and love,
    Barb

  4. It is such a very sad world. So many heartbreaking stories of late that fill me with tremendous sadness. The evil that some commit, beggars belief. On a happier note, the green gourd is so like a goose; how amazing. The B&B you stayed in sounds rather wonderful, Gina.

    1. Stephanie, I wonder how the gardener was able to have it grow that way. xo

  7. Pretty picture, I do love a wrap around porch, we don't have one ourselves but it is a nice long porch :) they did have a nice assortment there, and yes when things like this happen we have to look to God for our comfort. That one is a goose neck gourd, very cool huh, you can google it, people do crafts with them :)

    1. Connie, thanks for the explanation. The gourd is so pretty as it is, I can't imagine crafters changing anything!
