Muffins and a Card

While the spirit of neighborliness was important on the frontier because neighbors were so few, it is even more important now because our neighbors are so many.
~Lady Bird Johnson

What a great quote by Lady Bird Johnson!  I don't have so many neighbors but I do have a new one.

I decided to bake some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins to take over to my neighbor.  I also threw together a card that said Welcome to the Neighborhood! And I included my phone number etc in case she needed anything.

My new neighbor seems to be very sweet.  She told me that she enjoys doing crafts.  (YES!!!!). She also told me that when she saw all our Halloween decor that she told her brother-in-law (that was helping her move) that she was going to like me.  Do I sense a kindred spirit?

I didn't want her to worry about returning a plate so I just put the muffins on a Dixie plate. It isn't very autumn looking but at least the muffins are delicious!

I saved a few extra muffins for me to eat... after all, I have to make sure they taste good! ♥

  3. It is always nice when your neighbors welcome you to the area. It is so good to have a phone number in case you need to ask about something. And that card...so pretty. I am sure the muffins were great.

  4. Hi Gina!

You are a great neighbor! I have a new neighbor that moved in a few months ago, I've yet to make it to their house with even a plate of cookies. I'm planning on bringing them something nice and sweet for Christmas...I hope it's not too late. They are a young couple, so not much in common with me, but, I think it's very reassuring to be able to call a familiar face if you need to.

    The muffins look delish!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  7. Oh, how wonderful you have a lovely new neighbour who just might be a kindred spirit. Sweet card you crafted and those muffins would have been most welcoming. Wouldn't it be fabulous if you and your new neighbour have many happy moments crafting together.

    1. Kim, I hope she doesn't think my crafts are too homey. They are homespun/rustic but that is me. She may be a fancy crafter person. We will see.

    1. I hope she enjoyed them, Karen. She looked a bit overwhelmed with unpacking. She asked me in for a visit but I didn't stay long. I hope she made a nice cup of coffee or tea to go with her muffins. xo

    1. Thank you, Connie. I think the card was a bit plain but I didn't want to make it too overwhelming. I thought it better to go simple. :-)
