A Watermelon Hooray for a Touches of August Winner

Today's drawing reveals that the winner of Touches of August Giveaway is...

Barb, I will have your goodies mailed asap! I hope that you enjoy them this August and always.

Thank you ladies for joining in on the drawing. I plan on hosting one at the beginning of each month so stay tuned! ♥

Today is a new day and I am feeling a little better than yesterday.  I am still moving a little slowly and getting a bit done.  My kitchen is closed until the plumber arrives later this morning.  Over the weekend, the garbage disposal died and yesterday the sink pipes started dripping.  Thankfully, we caught it before everything got soaked. After speaking to the plumbing company on the phone, I believe it should be a fairly easy fix.  Replacing the garbage disposal and checking the pipes etc should do the trick.

We've been in the house 3 years now and I suspect things will start to break down one by one. I'm surprised the washer and dryer haven't died yet. We did replace the kitchen refrigerator 2 years ago.  This is all to be expected and thankfully we've set aside money for repairs etc.

And now onto happier thoughts!  I thought I'd share a few of the watermelon cards that I made.  The one above is a double hooray - one for Barb and one for watermelon!!

This second card is simple and it says it all - WATERMELON!  I love love love the watermelon tissue paper!  I think I'll stamp a sentiment inside.

I think this third one is my favorite. Who doesn't want (need!!) a little something sweet?

Now I'm off to visit unless the plumber rings the doorbell.

  5. Oh I am glad to hear that you are feeling a little better. We just had our garbage disposal quit on us yesterday, but thankfully hubby was able to get it going again, it seems like there is always something giving us troubles. Hope it went well and you were able to get it all fixed!

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
