Friendship is a Sheltering Tree

I should be canning my beef bone broth but I'm taking a moment to sit down and share this Sheltering Tree card that I made for a lady from my Ladies Bible Study.  She was in a car accident recently and she hasn't been able to attend the study the last few weeks.  I am also sending her one of the floral journals that I made.  I hope she likes them.

While stamping, I made a smudge in the upper left part of the card and drew it freehand into a bird. Then I drew another bird. I hope they look ok. I hate when the ink smudges!

Now it is to the canning I must go but I will return to visit everyone!

Blessings!

  7. So sorry to hear about your friend, I hope she heals quickly. Beautiful fall card to brighten her day. You would never know there was smudges, your birds look great. I was going to buy a bird stamp like that, if I knew I could do that good free hand I wouldn't buy a stamp.

    1. Connie, I am shocked the birds came out so well. I practiced for a while. I used watercolor pencils for the birds. I was not brave or confident enough to use a marker.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
