Vintage Photograph - Can You Guess?

Today I am sharing with you a photograph.  Vintage in that it is over 50 years old.  Can you tell which little girl is me?

These lovely adults are my Aunt Therese and Uncle John.  I always felt safe with them.  They both passed away last year.

  1. Yep.. I guess that you're the little girl in blue, too :)

Sorry about your loved ones passing. Wonderful that you loved them so, and that you had a sweet relationship with them.

  2. Upon close inspection, I am guessing the one in the blue. The smile gives it away. I hope I am right.

  3. actually I wonder if you are the one in red plaid. lovely picture!

  4. I too, was wondering if the sweet little girl in the red plaid is you. How sad these two loved ones passed away in the same year. Such a lovely photo of them....and you, Gina.

  5. Yes, I see Gina!! You still have that same smile.

  6. Rather than respond to each comment, I'll respond to them all here. Until I read most of your guesses, I didn't really see the resemblance of my sister and me (current picture) but I do see it now.

I am.... (drum roll....) the little girl in the red plaid. My sister in the blue is 3 years older than I am. She mostly resembles my dad's side of the family whereas I look very much like my mother's side.

I have always been on the petite side. Smallest in my class. And have always had very chubby cheeks. When I had the MUMPS, they didn't even know. (the doctor confirmed this)

Thanks to everyone who guessed - though Arlene - you played it safe and didn't really guess. ♥

  7. Oh I didn't get here in time to guess, such a cute little girl you were, love that picture and how wonderful to have a great pic with your Aunt and Uncle you were so fond of!

  8. I thought you were the one in red. :) Pictures like this are priceless!! So sorry about your Aunt and Uncle. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  9. I guessed right, Gina! I thought for sure that you are the little girl on the left. I'm so glad that you felt safe with you beloved aunt and uncle.

  10. Thank you ladies for guessing/commenting! xo

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
