A Sad Goodbye

and the saga continues...

After many thoughts and prayers and discussions, we came to the conclusion that it was best to find Lilah Rose another home.

Today, we said goodbye.  At least for now as I pray that I will see her one day again on the other side.

We have been in touch with a wonderful rescue that was able to take her and they assured me that they will lovingly care for her until they find her the right home. They said it won't be long as she is so sweet, small, healthy, and trained.

And you can imagine how I feel as if my heart has broken in a million little pieces.  I think my faith is all that holds them together.  My faith is small but God is big.  He holds us all, including Lilah Rose, in his arms.

Please would you pray that she adjusts well to the rescue and her new home and that her little heart isn't broken?  I know she will be loved by another family and be happy one day (hopefully soon).

I will cling to my faith and I trust that God will carry me through as He always has.  He is faithful.

And so the next step is looking North at houses.  Should be interesting.

Thank you dear friends for praying. XO

  4. I will say a prayer for you. You did the right thing. They will have a much better chance of finding her a good home. Lots of people are looking for a sweet pet and you have a limited scope, but those looking will go to those places. My son just adopted the most amazing dog from a place. He is giving a rescue dog a wonderful home.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
