I Think I'm Going to Need a Bigger Bandaid

Oh bother.  I am down for the count with some kind of upset stomach virus.  Better today than next week!

Still, it is disappointing.  There is much to be done but in the end it can wait.

As I type, I am simmering chicken bones into broth.  It won't be ready until tomorrow at best. Maybe I should reconsider the Instant Pot?

I do have some Great Value Chicken Broth in my pantry.  I am tempted to heat it up, add some seasonings, and see if I can tolerate it.

I am funny/picky about commercial broth/soup.  I can not abide by Swansons or Campbells.  It is either too salty or just plain nasty tasting.  I have found the Great Value brand chicken broth to be good when added to different recipes.  Let's hope it is passable to drink alone.

Drinking alone...  that has such a sad sound to it...

Who wants to join me with a cup of hot chicken broth?

  1. Although cup of good chicken broth that has brewed for a while sounds mighty good, I will pass, Gina, as it is just a bit too hot down here. Something long and cool would suit me better. =) I hope your upset stomach passes soon and you will be up and at it again. Take care♥

    1. Connie, I am feeling better. I think part of it was getting all the carbs out of my system.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
