Super Bowl Munchies

It's that time of year!  Time to settle in, make a plate  filled with munchies from a smorgasbord of sumptuous snacks, and wait for the Super Bowl commercials to start!

Yes, I said commercials.  I suppose we will glance at the television now and then while the game is being played.  For me, it's all about the commercials and the food.

This year there are more munchies than munchers.  We will definitely have leftovers to pick at during the week.

I chose to feature my one healthy option of my smorgasbord of sumptuous snacks ~ a fresh veggie plate.

Everything else is messy and gooey and delicious!

Gina's Smorgasbord of Sumptuous Snacks

Fresh Vegetables

Creamy Onion Dip

Chili Cream Cheese Dip

Jalapeno Dip

Tortilla Chips

Tacquitos with Guacamole

Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza w/Extra Cheese

Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream (variety)

It is only 7:30 and I am stuffed!  I was pretty good and didn't eat too much and just a little bit of my Cherry Garcia pint.

What are you serving for the Super Bowl?

    1. Kim, and we have leftovers too! Though I think my husband ate all his Ben & Jerry's - Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Thankfully, he does not like Cherry Garcia!

  2. awww, that sounds like a great list of fun food and nice to have for munching on later too! We don't have a TV and we watched the Walton's tonight :) but we had beef roast and mashed potatoes while doing so and that was fun! We are also enjoying Chex Mix a lot right now, a great food for munching! God bless!

    1. Elizabeth, I love Chex Mix. Did you make it in the oven or microwave? I've only made it in the oven before.

  3. That sounds delish. I skipped the superbowl and went for Victoria and netflix. But a snack would have been nice!

  5. Your Smorgasbord sounded delicious. Not football people here so no watching of the Super Bowl. No snacks either as it was too late when I remembered. Have a fabulous Monday!

    1. Robin, sad about the snacks but you probably aren't having to recover from a carb stupor like me. ♥

  6. I agree that it's about the commercials and the food. Although, I didn't think the commercials were as good this year. Hubby smoked some wings and we had similar things as you. relish tray, dips and crackers, shrimp and cocktail sauce. Very yummy!! I've missed visiting you!

    1. Hi Jann! Wings sound so delicious! And I love shrimp and cocktail sauce. I agree about the commercials. I did enjoy the Old World beer commercials (bud? - the one without the corn syrup!). Those were cute.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
