Think Pink!

I am feeling better today - better enough to do a little bit of decorating for Valentine's Day. We will be away next week so I didn't go ALL out like I usually do. Thinking pink always cheers me up!

The photographs are a little dark and brightening them more didn't look right to me. So here we go!

The above photograph was taking in my little kitchen nook. The tablecloth is twice as big as is shown so I just folded it in half.  It would be either too long or a little short so I stuck with short. ♥

I never thought of myself as a pink girl, but over time, I have evolved into one.  I think pink is my favorite color now.  The candle is Yankee Candle's Home for the Holidays scent and is sporting a Yankee Candle antique white candle top.  It sits in a little cream saucer.

I love this tiered heart cupcake stand.  I can't remember where I bought it from.  It would usually hold delicious Valentine cupcakes but as I am watching my weight, it sits empty at the moment.  I think I will add valentines to it and other little treats.

The red and white banner (with touches of blue) is from April Cornell.  You all know how I love my pretty banners!  I think I love the polka dots best.

I had to take a closeup photograph of the heart quilt that is across the back of my oak bench.  The glare from the windows was too much to take a farther away one.  I bought this from eBay.  It is actually a Pottery Barn crib quilt and is the perfect size for my bench!

And last but not least, one of my favorite quilts across the back of one of the sofas.  And Lilah Rose who insisted in getting her photograph taken.

Please don't mind the mess or my reflection in the television.  I do just love all the colors in this quilt!

And that is my Think Pink Valentine's Day decor.  Are you thinking pink?

  2. I am always thinking pink, Gina.....well that is of course when I am not thinking blue. =) Pink is such a 'bring-a-smile-to-my-face' colour. What a pretty little nook to sit and gaze out the window to those beautiful woods of yours. The tablecloth oozes pretty and I must say your cane furniture on your porch is lovely. Such a comfy place to sit. The cake stand is sweet as is the banner. I too love polka dots. Love the two quilts. Did you say your room is messy....really?? It looks to me as if Mary Poppins has been there and tidied up with her magic. You have a lovely home. Quite right too, that Lilah Rose shares the photo...she is very sweet.

    1. Kim, you are so cute! I am glad you didn't notice the various dog toys here and there. One is on the big comfy chair. I haven't seen Mary Poppins but if you do, please send her my way! XO

  4. Thank you for my pretty Valentine. My first one this year!! I love the color pink as well. ( Or Blush and Bashful as Shelby would say in Steal Magnolias.) Red has always been one of my favorite colors and pink is just a paler version of Red.

  7. Hi Gina~

I'm so glad you are feeling better today...nothing worse than the stomach bug :0(

Your pink is beautiful, and your banner is just adorable! I just loved the cute picture of you and Lilah Rose, you in the TV and her just looking I.

I haven't even thought about Valentine's Day...I have had the flu, even after a flu shot! It has knocked me for a loop...but your beautiful card cheered me up yesterday, thank you so much, you are a treasured friend!

I'm with you, most broths or stocks from the store really lack flavor, so I usually make my own as well. I love a wonderful bone broth soup for colds and flu.

    Take care of yourself!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
