When You Send Your Husband to the Grocery Store...

you make him a list

a very detailed list

so there is

absolutely no

 question

what to buy

I don't know why I do it ~ not the make the list part but the make the list very detailed part.  My husband is (has learned to be) a very good shopper.

Does he really need to be reminded to check the date on items or check for bruises on the fruit?  Maybe not.  But, I think, it can't hurt to remind him!

We don't shop at Walmart very often.  It is pretty far away - farther than our other grocery stores.  I like to shop there when we need to buy food to make Lilah Rose's homemade dog food.  Walmart has the best price for boneless skinless chicken breasts and for Gerber's sweet potato baby food.

We don't need many groceries this week as we will be going away.

Fruit is always a MUST.  The oatmeal cookies were a want ~ not a must or a need. It is just as well because they didn't have any of the 3 pack bags. So no cookies for me!

I have discovered these flatbread crisp crackers and they are delicious!  I have been drinking a lot of chicken bone broth and these crackers compliment the broth very well.  They are low in calories and WW points. I love the herbs flavor and crispy crunch!  (this is not a sponsored post)

If you send your husband to the grocery store, do you make him a detailed list?

  1. Yes especially with size and/or quantity. I will have to add those Town House Crisps to the list. They look delicious.

    1. Robin, they are really good. They remind me of a flatbread pizza without the sauce n cheese.

  2. I probably don't send the detailed list, but I give him the rundown verbally before he goes:)

  3. No, I don't really send a detailed with my husband when he shops, though I do remind him to put his glasses on when he reads the packaging as he has come home with some very strange things indeed. =) Those flatbreads look tasty, Gina. I can well imagine they go perfectly with your chicken broth.

  4. Good morning Gina, first things first, thank you so much for your sweet card, what a wonderful surprise! I am always amazed t how God confirms our desires, I was planning a return to blogging soon, and when I read your card I knew it was time. I have so missed interacting with my blogging friends. My plans are to try and catch-up this week.
I do indeed send a detailed list with DH, he always has his cell phone just in case. ~wink~As a matter of fact he enjoys shopping, which I was pleasantly surprised at. Have a blessed trip this week..

  5. When I broke my wrist last year and could not drive, I would go to the grocery store with him. But if I have several things for him to pick up, I send a list. And then he usually calls me to make sure I am getting the right thing.:)

  6. Hello, Gina, I had to laugh....yes, I send a list - usually by text because he stops on his way home from work. He knows the usual things we buy, but if I ask him to get something special, I have to go into detail. Sometimes it works....haha! He's come home with some really strange things at times, and he has a big sweet-tooth and knows I don't like that he eats so much candy, so he hides them in his car or desk drawer. Those crackers look yummy - I'll have to try them. Sending hugs xo Karen

    1. Karen, oh so cute! Hiding the candy! Sometimes I hid the candy not that I can eat it all but so that he won't eat it all. I have to put it out little by little! ♥

    1. Yep, Jeanie! I love that the crackers are small and if you nibble on them, they hit the spot!

  8. HA Ha, no not detailed, usually tell him stuff before he goes and then he will still call and ask questions, but it doesn't happen to much that he goes without me :)

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
